Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Arrives, Introducing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the first full-length trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
Following up on the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the outer limits of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a fresh princess character and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Drawing from Beloved Titles
Similar to the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will encounter once more some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a fan favorite from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Interestingly, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not exclusively centered on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also includes nods to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The movie will feature once again of the original voice cast, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. The casting was verified by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
Mario's Major Moment
The new Mario movie is set to release close to the 40th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Beyond the film, 2026 looks set to be a major period for Mario and his companions.
Nintendo has a trio of new releases already confirmed for the upcoming year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
